Reverend John Paul Stepnowski was named Parochial Vicar of St. Francis of Xavier Catholic Parish in Birmingham effective July 1, 2026.

Father John Paul Stepnowski
as our new Associate Pastor.
Father John Paul Stepnowski grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, before moving to Huntsville to pursue a Chemical Engineering Degree at UAH. During those years in university, Alabama became his home, and he responded to God’s invitation to become a priest. He studied for the past 6 years at the Pontifical College Josephinum, in Columbus, Ohio. Bishop Raica ordained him a priest of Jesus Christ at the end of May, he is excited to ‘learn the ropes’ here at St Frances Xavier on his first assignment.
