The St. Francis Xavier Parish School of Religion (PSR) programs exist to help the students of our parish in grades 4K – 8th grade grow in their knowledge and love of Christ and in the sacramental life of His Church. Our position as religious educators is complementary to that of our parents, and we seek to support them in their role as the “primary and principal educators” of their children. Our staff and volunteers strive to follow this special calling in an environment that is educational, safe, and welcoming for our students.

Sacramental Preparation
First Reconciliation & First Communion
Preparation for the Sacrament of Reconciliation and Communion is done during 1st and 2nd grade with the reception of the Sacrament in 2nd grade. If you have a child who is ready to begin sacramental preparation, he or she is very welcome to join us. If the child has reached a more advanced age (6th grade or older) without yet participating in Reconciliation, then our Youth Christian Initiation program may be more appropriate.
Confirmation
Preparation for the Sacrament of Confirmation is done during 7th and 8th grade with reception of the Sacrament in 8th grade. St. Francis Xavier School and the Parish School of Religion work together with our families to prepare our students to be sealed with the Holy Spirit in the sacrament of Confirmation. This process involves, once in 8th grade, a series of bi-weekly Sunday evening sessions and a weekend retreat – all of which is meant to deepen the students’ understanding of and open their hearts to the grace that God offers them in Confirmation.
