FAQs
Mission and Vision
How will this campaign strengthen our parish community?
This campaign is about more than buildings; it is about strengthening the mission and ministry
of St. Francis Xavier for generations to come. Our facilities are the places where we gather to
worship, learn, serve and grow together as a faith community. By modernizing, expanding and
renewing our campus, we are creating welcoming spaces that better support the spiritual,
educational and community life of our parish. These improvements will allow us to serve our students, families, parishioners and ministries while providing an outward sign of our commitment more effectively to the Church and to the future of St. Francis Xavier.
Why is the parish considering these specific projects now?
The Master Plan process was developed through careful evaluation, consultation and listening
to the needs of our parish and school community. The projects identified for Phase One
represent the most immediate priorities and the areas where improvements will have the
greatest impact on our ability to fulfill our mission. Feedback received during the Planning
Study confirmed the importance of strengthening our facilities, supporting Catholic education
and creating greater connection among all members of the St. Francis Xavier community.
Our Parish Hall, which is now more than 40 years old, has served our community well but is
showing signs of age. Updated finishes, improved technology, updated kitchen, new HVAC,
new A/V, additional restroom capacity and enhanced functionality are needed to better
accommodate the many parish gatherings, ministries and events that take place there.
Our Educational Buildings, constructed more than 70 years ago, also require significant
updates to meet the needs of today’s students and families. The current facilities do not
include ADA-accessible restrooms or an elevator, and the infrastructure does not adequately
support today’s technology-driven learning environment. In addition, our educational mission
currently requires students and staff to utilize three separate buildings, with some movement
requiring individuals to go outdoors between spaces.
After years of thoughtful planning and evaluation, the parish recognizes that these
improvements can no longer be postponed. Addressing these needs now allows us to invest
responsibly in facilities that will better serve our parish, school and ministries for many years to
come.
How will these improvements strengthen our parish for future generations?
For generations, the St. Francis Xavier community has been blessed by the vision, generosity and
sacrifice of those who came before us. We continue to benefit from the facilities and spaces built by
earlier generations of parishioners who invested in the future of our parish and its mission.
This is our opportunity to do the same. By renewing and expanding our campus, we are making a meaningful investment in the generations of parishioners, students and families who will follow us. These improvements will ensure that St. Francis Xavier remains a welcoming place where people can encounter Christ, grow in faith and build community for many years to come. Our hope is that future generations will look back with gratitude on the stewardship and commitment of today’s parishioners,
just as we do with those who built the foundation we enjoy today.
How will these projects impact St. Francis Xavier children, youth and young adults?
These projects will create more welcoming, functional and connected spaces for students, children,
youth and young adults to learn, grow in faith and build community. Improvements to the Educational
Building, Parish Hall and connections across campus will better support the needs of our school, PSR, youth ministry and young adult programs.
With a school community, approximately 300 children participating in PSR and active youth and young adult ministries, these improvements will benefit parishioners across generations. Most importantly, the projects will help create spaces where our young people feel welcomed, connected and supported as they grow in their faith and develop lasting relationships within the St. Francis Xavier community.
How will this unite the parish and school?
The Master Plan provides an opportunity to strengthen the connection between St. Francis Xavier Parish and School by creating spaces that better support our shared mission of faith formation and education. Both the parish and school rely on the Educational Building for important programs, including our K-8 school program and Parish School of Religion (PSR).
By improving and connecting these spaces, we are creating a more unified campus where students, families, parishioners and ministries can come together more easily. These improvements will enhance collaboration between the parish and school while reinforcing that we are one St. Francis Xavier community, united in our commitment to forming disciples and serving one another.
How will the Hispanic community be included?
The Hispanic community is an important and valued part of the St. Francis Xavier family, and their involvement and perspective will continue to be an important part of this project. We are committed to working together throughout the planning, construction and implementation process to ensure that the needs and voices of our entire parish community are represented.
This project is about strengthening the future of all of St. Francis Xavier, and we look forward to continuing to build unity, connection and shared ownership among all members of our diverse parish
community.
Capital Campaign Overview
Who is leading the Capital Campaign?
The campaign is being led by our pastor, Father Joe, along with a dedicated team of General Chairs, Paul Sparks and Tom Brinkley, and Campaign Cabinet. Our professional Capital Campaign partners, the Steier Group and St. Francis Xavier staff will support the General Chairs, Cabinet and Campaign Committee.
Has the Diocese approved this campaign?
Yes. The proposed Master Plan and capital campaign received approval from Bishop Raica and the Diocesan College of Consultors on July 29, 2026. This approval authorizes the parish to move forward with the capital campaign in support of the proposed Phase One projects. As the project progresses, the Diocese will continue to provide oversight in accordance with diocesan policies and canon law. Once the design process is complete and all project details have been finalized, the construction plans will receive the necessary diocesan approvals before construction begins.
Will the Pastoral Council and Finance Council continue to be involved?
Yes. Both the Pastoral Council and Finance Council will remain actively involved throughout the life of the project, providing guidance, oversight and accountability as the parish moves from fundraising through construction. The Finance Council will monitor the project’s financial health, including campaign proceeds, expenditures and the appropriate use of the parish’s building fund, ensuring that all campaign gifts and designated building funds are used exclusively for the approved Phase One projects. The Pastoral Council will help ensure that the project continues to support the parish’s mission, ministries and long-term pastoral priorities. Together, these councils will provide ongoing review and recommendations to help ensure the project remains aligned with its approved scope and is carried out with transparency and faithful stewardship.
Can I volunteer to help with the campaign?
Absolutely! We welcome and encourage volunteers from our parish community. Whether you want to assist with administrative tasks, events or communications, there are many ways to get involved. Please contact the parish office or a campaign General Chair for more information about volunteering.
How long will the campaign last?
Our campaign will kickoff to the entire parish October 24-25. We ask that all campaign commitments (pledges and gifts) be turned in prior to our final campaign weekend February 5-6. We will have a three-year pledge period to fulfill campaign commitments.
Who will be asked to support the effort?
Every parishioner and school family will be invited to prayerfully consider making a commitment to support this campaign. We will also invite school and parish staff, school alumni and other friends and supporters of St. Francis Xavier to participate. This campaign is an opportunity for the entire St. Francis Xavier community to come together and invest in the future of our parish and school.
How will funds be raised?
Primarily through donations from our parishioners. We will provide every parish household with a packet of information in October, including a request for a specific commitment to the campaign to ensure they can prayerfully discern their gift. We will be assessing possibilities for grants as well and plan to submit for these if appropriate.
What is the difference between a gift and a pledge?
A gift is a one-time contribution made immediately, with the funds transferred to the campaign at the time of donation. A pledge, however, is a commitment to donate a specific amount over the course of the 3-year campaign. Instead of paying the full amount upfront, parishioners can fulfill their pledge in
installments (weekly, monthly, or yearly), providing flexibility in how and when they contribute.
Are we considering any fundraising events?
We have been guided by our partner, the Steier Group in approaches to fundraising for this kind of capital campaign. Typical practices include events where parishioners can hear firsthand about the vision for the project and the designs. Most parishioners will hear about these details when we conduct our parish kickoff in October.
How much savings does the church have? Can it be used for this?
We have benefited over the years from the generosity of our parishioners and the good stewardship of our pastors and leaders in the parish which has resulted in a substantial reserve. In consultation with our finance council, we will make determinations on how much to keep in reserve for future situations and what is available for this effort. Our campus has buildings that are aging and will need repairs over time, so we will be prudent with how we decide to use any savings we currently have.
Will there be a visible way to recognize donors (i.e. bricks with parishioner's names on them)?
We have not finalized exact ways to recognize our donors, but we are assessing naming opportunities. There are many approaches we will continue to evaluate. We will be publishing lists of those who have joined the effort (without amounts) after we launch the campaign at the end of October.
How many registered families are there currently and how many contribute regularly?
We have 1,200 registered households at St. Francis. In 2025, 900 households made a financial contribution.
If this is a long-range plan, can we expect another capital campaign?
We will be assessing additional fundraising efforts needed for additional phases after Phase 1 is
complete. It is likely we will have another campaign to raise funds for Phase 2 and Phase 3.
How do we listen to God and discern our gift?
Throughout our master planning process, we have taken specific questions into prayer to hear what God’s vision is for our parish. We encourage the same approach as you prayerfully discern your gift to the campaign. This is a gift to the future of our parish and it will require sacrificial giving from all of us. Just as our master planning process and architectural design efforts have been rooted in prayer, your gift to the campaign should also be a fruit of your prayer.
Phase 1 Projects
What is Phase 1?
Following careful facility studies and extensive input from parishioners and staff, St. Francis Xavier developed a comprehensive, three-phase campus master plan. This plan is intentionally phased, allowing us to address our most urgent needs while maintaining a clear vision for long-term growth. Phase 1 is our immediate priority – the work that lays the foundation for everything that follows.
Phase one includes the rennovation of the Parish Hall and expansion of our Educational Building.
What is the educational building?
The educational building is commonly known now as the school, however, this building is used by many other groups and ministries. This highlights the wide impact on these campus improvements as they impact not just the school, but the other groups that use (and will use) this building.
What improvements are planned in the Parish Hall?
The Parish Hall renovation will focus on improving functionality, hospitality and the overall experience for parish gatherings, ministries and community events. Planned improvements include updated finishes throughout the hall, upgraded audio/visual technology, expanded restroom facilities, additional storage and improvements to the kitchen area, including new equipment and updated functionality. The restrooms located near the gymnasium will also be renovated to provide improved accessibility, appearance and usability for students, parishioners and visitors.
What improvements are planned for the Educational Building?
Phase One of the Master Plan includes the construction of a new educational wing that will connect the existing Educational Building with the Parish Hall and gymnasium, creating a more unified and functional campus. The new space will include updated classrooms for sixth, seventh and eighth grades, along with dedicated rooms for music, science, math, catechesis, small-group instruction and a library/media space. The new facility will include modern learning environments equipped with current technology, improved accessibility features, ADA-compliant restrooms and an elevator to provide access between floors. A designated safe room for severe weather events is also included in the design, enhancing the safety and security of our students and parish community. As new classrooms and spaces are added, existing areas within the Educational Building will become available for other ministries and activities, including expanded opportunities for Parish School of Religion (PSR) programming and parish formation.
What safety improvements are planned?
Safety has been a key consideration throughout the Master Plan process. Planned improvements include ADA-accessible restrooms, an elevator for improved accessibility throughout the buildings and the incorporation of a dedicated safe room designed to provide protection during severe weather events. These improvements will enhance the ability of the campus to safely serve students, parishioners, staff and visitors.
What security improvements are planned?
Creating a safe and secure environment for our students, parishioners and staff is a top priority. The updated Educational Building design will incorporate improved security features, including controlled points of entry and exit that better manage access to the building. The design will also include a safe room that is accessible from within the building, allowing students and staff to seek shelter during severe weather events without needing to go outdoors.
What ADA improvements are included?
Accessibility improvements are incorporated throughout the Master Plan. Building entrances will be designed to provide easier access for individuals with mobility challenges, and new ADA-compliant restrooms will be included. An elevator will provide access between floors, ensuring that all members of our parish and school community can fully participate in activities throughout the campus.
Will landscaping be included?
Yes. New landscaping will be incorporated as part of the new construction to enhance the appearance of the campus, improve the connection between buildings and create welcoming outdoor spaces for students, parishioners and visitors.
Will signage be updated?
Yes. As part of the campus improvements, the parish envisions developing a comprehensive signage plan that will create a consistent and welcoming system throughout the entire campus. Improved signage will help parishioners, students and visitors more easily navigate the facilities.
Will campus lighting be updated? Yes. New exterior lighting will be included around the new
construction areas to improve visibility, safety and the overall campus experience. Lighting
improvements will be thoughtfully designed to enhance security while complementing the updated
campus environment.
Will parking change?
At this time, no significant changes to the existing parking plan are anticipated and no parking spaces will be lost due to the expansion. The parish will continue to monitor parking needs as the campus improvements move forward and will make adjustments if future needs arise.
Will the Beech Street entrance close?
Yes. As part of the new construction, the current Beech Street entrance between the Educational Building and Parish Hall will close because the new building will occupy that area and create a connection between these facilities. The Beech Street entrance to Xavier Circle will remain open and available for parishioners, families and visitors. The exit onto Beech Street by the gymnasium will remain open to serve parishioners. Additional communication and signage will be provided before construction begins to help everyone navigate the campus safely and conveniently.
What are the other phases of the plan?
Our From Generation to Generation Capital Campaign focuses on Phase 1 of a larger three-phase master plan to update and strengthen the St. Francis Xavier campus. Future phases will continue this progress as resources and funding allow. Phase 2, estimated at $10.2 million, would connect the Educational Building to the Annex with a two-story addition while improving safety, accessibility and functionality through a secure entryway, administrative offices, additional circulation, ADA-accessible restrooms and targeted Educational Building renovations. Phase 3, estimated at $4.6 million, would restore the Annex, original sanctuary into a Multipurpose Hall, restoring the vaulted ceiling and upgrading restrooms and kitchen spaces. Additional projects, estimated at $1.5 million, including rectory egress stair replacement and athletic field improvements, will be incorporated when financially and logistically appropriate.
St. Francis Xavier Catholic School
What is the school's long-term plan?
The school developed a strategic plan in 2024. From Principal Mary Paige: “This plan was prayerfully
developed through the collaboration of school, parish, and diocesan stakeholders, including the St.
Francis Xavier School Advisory Board and members of the Parish Pastoral Council. The goals and
objectives in the coming pages seek to chart a faithful and prudent course for St. Francis Xavier
Catholic School over the next several years. We are committed to forming students in faith, wisdom,
and virtue, and we look forward to building on the long-standing traditions of excellence at our school.”
To review the full strategic plan, visit our master plan website: www.sfxbirmingham.com/masterplan
Is enrollment expected to grow? How will these renovations attract new families?
While future enrollment growth cannot be guaranteed, we currently have 170 students at our school and
we fully expect this to grow as a result of our school’s strategic plan initiatives. These facility
improvements will help position St. Francis Xavier to welcome and serve more families. Updated,
accessible and connected spaces will create a more positive experience for students.
For prospective families, we know the quality and functionality of a school’s facilities is an important
part of their decision. These renovations will help ensure that St. Francis Xavier’s campus reflects the
excellence of its Catholic education, faith formation and strong sense of community, making it an even
more welcoming place for new families.
Why renovate instead of building something entirely new?
The parish has carefully considered the timing and scope of the Educational Building improvements.
Completing the entire project at one time was evaluated; however, a phased approach provides
several important benefits. Phasing allows us to minimize the need for temporary classroom solutions,
better align construction with available funding and maintain responsible financial stewardship. This
approach also allows the parish to thoughtfully manage construction costs, address the most critical
needs first and ensure each phase is completed with the quality and care our community deserves.
Is it possible to complete the Educational Building all at once?
The parish carefully evaluated the option of completely replacing existing facilities versus renovating
and expanding the current campus. After review with the architectural team, it was determined that
many of our existing buildings are structurally sound and have served the parish well. The opportunity
before us is to thoughtfully renovate and enhance these spaces while also adding new construction
where needed to better serve the future needs of the St. Francis Xavier community. This approach
allows us to preserve the strengths of our current facilities, improve functionality and create updated
spaces in a more financially responsible manner. The recent renovation of the parish offices is an
example of how existing spaces can be transformed to better meet the needs of our parish community.
Financial
How much is the campaign expected to raise?
As a result of our Campaign Planning Study, the Steier Group projects St. Francis Xavier can raise $6.5 – $9 million in a Capital Campaign effort.
What will the campaign goal be?
We will determine our campaign goal after our silent phase where we secure early commitments and can better estimate an appropriate goal for our campaign.
What is the status of the Education Fund and how will Education Foundation funds be used?
Through the ongoing generosity of parishioners and recent memorial contributions, the assets in the
Education Foundation have steadily grown over the past six years. The Foundation currently supports
scholarships, teacher professional development, instructional resources, classroom enhancements and school marketing, with annual disbursements approved by the Education Foundation Board. In conjunction with the parish needs assessment, the Education Foundation Board has worked with parish leadership to project the school’s funding needs over the next five years. This process will help determine the appropriate level of support the Foundation can provide to the Capital Campaign while ensuring continued funding for the school’s ongoing needs. Final recommendations will be made this fall following continued discussions with the Finance Council, Diocese and Capital Campaign leadership, and will be shared with the parish at that time.
Will grants be pursued?
Yes! Our partners, the Steier Group have already identified a list of Foundations we will reaching out to for support.
How will construction costs be controlled?
The parish is committed to managing this project with careful financial oversight and responsible stewardship. St. Francis Xavier is in a strong financial position with no outstanding debt, healthy
offertory support that continues to meet operating needs and an existing building fund that is expected to provide a significant contribution toward the project. Before construction begins, the project will be competitively bid to multiple qualified general contractors to ensure the best value. Throughout construction, the parish, architect and contractor will work collaboratively to identify opportunities for cost savings without compromising quality or functionality. In addition, all contractor payment requests will be reviewed and approved by the project architect before payment is authorized, providing an added layer of financial accountability and oversight.
Will campaign funds be restricted?
Yes. All gifts made to the capital campaign will be restricted and used exclusively for the construction, furnishing and equipping of the Phase One projects as outlined in the campaign case statement and approved project scope. Campaign funds will not be used for the parish’s day-to-day operating expenses or unrelated projects. This ensures that every gift is applied directly to the purpose for which it was intended and reflects the parish’s commitment to transparency and faithful stewardship of donor contributions.
How are future maintenance costs being considered?
Long-term operating and maintenance costs have been an important consideration throughout the planning process. While expanding the campus will naturally result in some additional operating
expenses, the new and renovated facilities will be significantly more efficient and require considerably less maintenance than aging buildings. Modern building systems, improved energy efficiency and durable construction materials are expected to help offset a portion of the increased costs while reducing the need for major repairs in the years ahead.
Could updated facilities generate rental income?
While serving the parish community will always be the primary purpose of the facilities, an updated
Parish Hall may also provide opportunities for modest rental income. Enhanced amenities and
modernized spaces could make the hall more attractive for events such as wedding receptions, community gatherings and other appropriate functions when they do not conflict with parish activities. Any rental revenue would help support the ongoing maintenance and operation of the facilities.
Will insurance costs increase because of the project?
St. Francis Xavier’s buildings are insured through the Diocese’s property insurance program, with the
parish paying its portion of the insurance premium. As new facilities are added and existing buildings
are improved, the parish anticipates a modest increase in insurance costs to reflect the additional value of the campus. These projected increases have been considered as part of the parish’s long-term financial planning and are expected to be manageable within the parish’s overall operating budget.
Giving
Why is a three-year pledge recommended?
Three-year pledge periods are a standard pledge fulfillment period for large capital campaign efforts.
Our capital campaign management firm, the Steier Group, recommends a three-year pledge period as, in their experience, a longer pledge period is not guaranteed to raise a significant amount more due to donor fatigue and changes in life circumstances.
Can I pay my pledge early?
Absolutely. Early pledge payments assist in achieving the 50% cash in hand the Diocese requires before we can break ground on our projects.
Can I give online?
Once you have submitted your pledge card, you can fulfill your pledge online. If you plan to make a onetime gift online, please still complete a pledge card so we have a paper trail of your campaign
commitment.
How will we make people aware of alternative giving opportunities such as IRA gifts, stock, donor-advised funds, family foundations or trusts?
We will encourage alternative giving options for parishioners who want to support the campaign in tax efficient ways. The information below is not financial advice and parishioners who wish to give through alternative giving are encouraged to speak with their financial advisor/accountant prior to making their
commitments.
- IRA – Parishioners can make charitable gifts directly from their IRAs at any age by requesting a distribution to the parish. For those who are 70½ or older, a Qualified Charitable Distribution is also available. A QCD allows donors to transfer funds from an IRA straight to the parish without counting the amount as taxable income, and it can satisfy part or all of a required minimum distribution once those apply. IRA giving can be a helpful option for parishioners who want to reduce taxable income, meet RMD obligations or make a significant gift without using cash on hand. It is often easy to complete through a simple form from the IRA custodian.
- Appreciated Stock – Donating appreciated stock can be a tax-efficient way to make a gift. When you transfer shares directly to the parish rather than selling them, the parish receives the full market value and you generally avoids capital gains tax on the appreciation. This allows some parishioners to make a larger gift than they could in cash. Transferring stock is usually done through a simple form provided by the donor’s brokerage firm.
- Donor-Advised Funds – A donor-advised fund allows individuals to recommend grants to charitable organizations from an account they have already funded. Parishioners who use DAFs can recommend a gift to the campaign at any time, and many prefer this method because the money has already been set aside for charitable use. DAF gifts typically require only a few steps through your DAF provider and can be a straightforward way to make your commitment.
Can my employer match my gift?
Yes! If your employer has a matching gift program for charitable gifts, you capital campaign pledge or
gift should be eligible. When you are ready to make your campaign commitment (after our October
kickoff), please contact a campaign volunteer or the St. Francis Finance office for more information
and assistance.
Can I give anonymously?
Yes. On the pledge card you will be completing, we will ask about your recognition preferences. You
can choose to be listed on recognition materials (listing your name or in memory of) or you can select
anonymous. Please know if you select anonymous, your name will not be listed in any materials or
bulletin donor lists that share a list (no amounts) of those who have joined the effort. Sometimes other parishioners can be inspired to make their own commitment when they see the names of others who are participating. Please keep this in mind, but know we respect whatever decision you make about recognition.
Can I designate my gift to a specific project?
While we do allow for designated gifts, we prefer gifts given to the overall campaign effort as it helps us ensure we are able to fund all of the projects in Phase 1.
What happens if my financial situation changes?
We understand sometimes financial situations can change and you may want to decrease or increase your pledge. You can change your pledge at any time by contacting the St. Francis Xavier Finance Office.
When do start making payments on my pledge?
Once you have submitted your pledge card, we invite you to begin making payments according to the schedule you selected (monthly, quarterly, annually, one-time gift, etc.). Once the campaign public appeal has completed, the finance office will begin sending payment reminders (approximately April/May).
Communication
Where can I find campaign updates?
The central hub for campaign information is on our Master Plan website:
www.sfxbirmingham.com/master-plan We will also provide updates in the bulletin, weekly email and on social media. If you have specific questions or feedback, you can reach out to us at campaign@sfxbirmingham.com or contact a campaign volunteer.
Will campaign progress be shared regularly?
Yes, we will have updates on the website, email, bulletin and social media. The pastors will share updates from the pulpit during out public phase (October-February). We will also have a thermometer
in the narthex and online where we will track our progress.
How often will financial updates be published?
The parish will receive quarterly updates beginning at the conclusion of the capital campaign and
continuing throughout the construction process until the new spaces are complete and occupied.
These updates will provide timely information on construction progress, project milestones,
anticipated timelines, budget performance and any significant developments that may impact the
project. We are committed to maintaining open communication throughout the process and to being
faithful stewards of the generous gifts entrusted to this campaign.
How will parishioners know how funds are being spent?
The parish is committed to responsible financial oversight and transparency throughout the project.
Representatives from St. Francis Xavier will meet with the architect and general contractor on a
regular basis through Owner-Architect-Contractor (OAC) meetings to review construction progress,
monitor the project schedule, evaluate budget performance and address any issues that arise. These
meetings provide ongoing accountability and help ensure the project remains on track. Information from these reviews will be incorporated into the quarterly parish updates so parishioners remain informed about how campaign funds are being managed and how the project is progressing.
Construction
Who is our architect?
The Property Management Committee conducted a thorough evaluation of three architectural firms before selecting Davis Architects to develop the parish Master Plan and design the proposed facilities. The Davis Architects team includes Neil Davis, Gabriel Fuller, Julee Potter and Kevin Bryant,
who bring extensive experience in designing faith-based and community spaces. As the project
advances into the construction document phase, they will collaborate with a team of specialized consultants, including interior designers, structural, electrical and mechanical engineers, civil
engineers and landscape architects to ensure every aspect of the project is thoughtfully planned.
Who is our general contractor?
A general contractor has not yet been selected. Once the design and construction documents are
complete, the project will be competitively bid to qualified contractors. The parish will carefully evaluate proposals to select a contractor that offers the best combination of experience, quality,
value and the ability to successfully deliver the project.
When will construction begin?
While the timeline is dependent on the success of the capital campaign, completion of the design process and necessary approvals, our current goal is to begin construction in late fall 2027.
How long will construction take?
Although the final schedule will not be established until a contractor is selected and construction planning is complete, Phase One is currently anticipated to take approximately 18 months to complete.
Will the church and Parish Hall remain available during construction?
The church will remain fully accessible throughout construction, and Masses and liturgical celebrations will continue as scheduled. Renovation of the Parish Hall will require the building to be temporarily unavailable for approximately six to nine months. During that time, parish leadership will identify alternative spaces to accommodate ministries, meetings and events whenever possible.
Will Masses, ministries and parish events continue as usual?
Yes. Maintaining the spiritual life and ministries of the parish is a top priority throughout construction.
While some meetings, events or ministries may need to relocate temporarily or adjust schedules due to the renovation of the Parish Hall, every effort will be made to minimize disruptions and communicate changes well in advance. The Master Plan has been designed to allow parish life to continue throughout each phase of the project.
How will traffic and parking be affected?
Construction activity will result in increased contractor traffic on weekdays, but it is not expected to significantly impact weekend Masses or regular parish operations. During construction, the Beech Street entrance located between the Educational Building and Parish Hall will be closed. Parishioners
and visitors will continue to have convenient access to campus through Xavier Circle and other designated entrances. Clear signage and regular updates will help everyone navigate the campus
safely.
How will the parish ensure the safety of parishioners, students and staff during construction?
Safety will be the highest priority throughout the construction process. The selected general contractor will be required to follow all applicable OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
Construction areas will be securely fenced, access will be carefully controlled and appropriate signage will be installed to separate construction activity from parish and school operations. The parish will work closely with the contractor to ensure a safe environment for parishioners, students,
staff and visitors while minimizing disruptions to daily activities.
