Confirmation
The two-year preparation period for the Sacrament of Confirmation is begun in the seventh grade. The children must complete this preparation period prior to being confirmed during the latter part of the eighth grade year. Retreats, special classes and service hours -- under the auspices of St. Francis Xavier School and the PSR Program -- are provided and required.
Adult catechumens and candidates in the RCIA program receive the sacraments of initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, & Eucharist) at the Easter Vigil.

"Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds."
- Catechism of the Catholic Church, paragraph 1316
